An Invitation To MembershipThe Vermont Society of Association Executives (VSAE) would like to welcome you to Vermont's association community. Like you, the VSAE and its members have found great appeal in Vermont and its hospitable environment. We would like to tell you about our association and invite you to join us as a member. The VSAE was founded in 1964 by a group of Association Executives to represent associations and to provide a statewide medium for the exchange of experience and opinions. The VSAE has two categories of membership: Regular Members and Contributing Members. The membership of VSAE is diverse, coming from all types of industries and organizations. While diverse, the members have all found great appeal in advancing the profession of Association Management. Our members wear many hats, including meeting planning, financial management and membership retention. In our years of operation, we have made significant contributions to that effort. The VSAE has:
In order to confront new challenges in Association Management, the success of our efforts greatly depends on the continued strength and diversity of VSAE's membership. Your participation in the VSAE will help strengthen those efforts. Membership RequirementsThe membership is limited to full-time staff engaged in the management of voluntary trade, professional, education, philanthropic, technical or similar type organizations or to individuals who devote 50% or more of their working time to association management. The requirement that the organization be voluntary shall not exclude representatives of such organizations as an integrated state bar association or other professional society with a licensing function; however, it is not intended to include such organizations as cooperative buying or selling groups or strictly political groups. An unemployed Regular Member who is seeking employment as an association executive may continue to hold Regular Membership for one additional full membership year past the current membership year for which dues payment has been made.
