First established in 1963 as the Vermont Oil Heat Institute, VFDA continues to serve as an advocate and resource for this vital industry. Today, VFDA has over 300 member companies. VFDA members sell heating oil, propane, biofuel, kerosene and motor fuels throughout Vermont. In addition to our retail fuel marketers, VFDA members include petroleum wholesalers, heating appliance manufacturers, banks, law firms, insurance agencies, software companies and other businesses. VFDA provides members with federal and state legislative alert bulletins as well as regulatory assistance. Members have access to VFDA’s education & training courses, exhibition and marketing opportunities, advertising, drug and alcohol testing and property and casualty insurance. Executive Director Matt Cota joined VFDA in April 2007. Born and raised in Saxtons River, Matt spent the past decade in California where he was the Bureau Chief for the NBC affiliate in Santa Barbara.
