With a membership representing captive owners, management companies, and service providers, the VCIA reflects the nature of the captive industry itself - diverse and dynamic. In addition to its Annual Conference each August, the largest event of its kind in the world for the captive industry, VCIA publishes several communications pieces, manages a web site (www.vcia.com), jointly sponsors educational and other pertinent seminars covering a range of captive industry topics, and lobbies at the state and federal levels to advance issues of importance to the industry. The VCIA also works collaboratively with sister organizations to promote the general welfare of the captive industry, including the Coalition for Alternative Risk Funding Mechanisms (CARFM) and the Risk and Insurance Managers Society (RIMS).
